On Sunday, April 23rd, 2023, amidst the malicious and baseless allegations being raised against His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Dharma City hosted a heart-warming event. Dzogchen Ranyak Patrul Rinpoche had invited all those who were interested to a Long Life Prayer Ceremony for His Holiness. Over a hundred Tibetans and Westerners gathered and recited prayers under Rinpoche’s guidance. Most of them were wearing T-shirts specially crafted in Dharma City to symbolize their support for His Holiness. Overall, carried by the positive energy of all the participants, the gathering was a powerful expression of the Buddhist goal to uphold the path of sincerity.
Meanwhile, during another Long Life Ceremony taking place in Dharamsala, when requested to guard his commitment to live to more than 125 years of age, His Holiness stated: “I am physically well and I will continue to do all I can to preserve the Dharma in the Himalayan regions. The purpose of Buddhism is to be of benefit to others. I pray that relying on this very body I may continue to bring about others’ welfare. Please join me in making similar aspirations.”
